Big Meech, alongside his brother Terry Lee “Southwest Tee” Flenory established his own group called the Black Mafia Family in the mid-1980s in Detroit. The brothers started their criminal career while in college, forming an organization known as”the “50 Boyz,” named because they sold $50 bags cocaine on the streets of Detroit. When the duo grew their drug-related activities their reach and influence increased significantly in the late 1990s, turning into the Black Mafia Family into one of the most powerful drug trafficking networks across the nation.
